WHO WE SERVE

Young people who:

• did not complete high school

• are between the ages of 17 and 24

• live in Metro North Boston communities, with an emphasis on Chelsea and Cambridge

• are eligible to work in the U.S.

• are ready to make a change in their life!

WHAT WE DO

YouthBuild Just-A-Start (YBJAS) is an alternative education, training, and service program. Students spend about half their time in education, working toward their GED or high school diploma, and half their time in construction training, renovating affordable housing in the community. YBJAS prepares and supports students in their transition to college and a long-term career. The program is full time: Monday through Friday, 8:30 - 3:30. It is approximately 1 year for students pursuing their GED, and 2 years for students pursuing their high school diploma.
